Victory Day in Russia: Kids and seals in military uniform

Russia is in wait for a solemn celebration of the anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The events commemorating the victory over Nazi Germany are being held throughout the country.

In Saratov local kindergartens staged a makeshift military show bearing a close resemblance to the annual parade in Moscow’s Red Square. Children were dressed as sailors and special operations soldiers. A young re-enactor in the commander’s uniform reviewed the ‘troops’ driving a toy Jeep along the children’s corps.

Irkutsk-based seals also joined the celebration. The trained animals having special forces’ berets on their heads presented their patriotic program: they danced, shot with water rifles and disarmed toy mines.
