Just to ask way: Kazakh military helicopter lands on motor road

A Kazakh crew landed the helicopter on the road just to ask the way. The country’s Defense Ministry states that they were just ‘practicing visual orientation’ in the field.

To the surprise of travelers, a military helicopter unexpectedly landed at the very center of Aktobe-Shimkent motor way. A soldier jumped out, ran to a truck, asked the way and returned to the helicopter which immediately got off the ground.

“The guys have lost their way,” other drivers heard on their CB radios a bit later: the caller reported the situation with the pilots. They must have get lost in the blizzard.

At the same time, Kazakhstan’s Defense Ministry has A slightly different version. According to them, the Mi-8T helicopter crew was set a task to ‘practice visual orientation’.

“The crew went through the training exercise of landing on the road, found out where the nearest town was, took off and completed the task. Currently, the helicopter is stationed at the base,” says the ministry.
