Unrecognised Donetsk republic goes after Mariupol but says reunion with Ukraine possible

The separatist republic might return to Ukraine if a constitutional reform is held, Denis Pushilin, a representative of the so called DPR, said.

“There will be arms-free negotiations on whether it will be an autonomy or any other form,” Russian news agency TASS quotes Pushilin.

Reunion is possible only on condition that all points of the Minsk agreements are observed, he stressed.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday separatists opened fire on Ukraine’s forces near the town of Mariupol, in the vicinity of Donetsk Airport, tsn.ua reports.

Answering the question on plans to fight for Mariupol, Denis Pushilin said the DPR considers the southeastern city of Mariupol ‘its own territory’, though the issue should be solved ‘by political means’, pro-Kremlin news agency Sputnik reports.
