Ukraine imposed sanctions against 31-year-old citizen of Belarus


 

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a document expanding sanctions against individuals and entities. Currently, one citizen of the Republic of Belarus and four people born in Belarus are under the sanctions.

The citizen of Belarus on the Kyiv sanctions list is the 31-year-old business woman Darya Dzemchanka. She was born in Vitsebsk, has a degree from Vitsebsk State Technological University. Since 2007, Darya has been living in St. Petersburg and is currently the owner of the Bulavka Beauty wellness center there.

She appears in the sanctions list as the founder of “Russian National Commercial Bank”, which previously fell under the sanctions of the US and the European Union. Immediately after the annexation of Crimea, the bank was bought by the local authorities, and in early 2015it was sold to a little-known company “Integrated Energy Solutions”. Darya Dzemchanka is one of its beneficiaries.

The list of sanctions include blocking of official of Dzemchanka’s assets in Ukraine for 1 year and a ban on entering the country.

In total the official sanctions list of Kyiv has 1,228 individuals and 468 entities.
