Lukashenka positive about 2017 in New Year's address

This is what head of Belarus said in his New Year address.

According to Alyaksandr Lukashenka, last year, it was “not easy to keep Belarus an island of stability and tranquility” but he did it.

“Our neighbors, friends, fraternal peoples should know that aggression and threats will never come from the Belarusian land,” said Lukashenka.

He also noted:

“We are creating new industries, building roads, power plants, important social facilities and residential houses. We are renovating towns and villages. Every year Belarus is getting a more modern European face”.

The year 2017, according to the head of state, “must be a turning point and give a powerful impetus to the development of the country”.

“We will focus on creation of new industries and jobs, business revitalization. Important role will be given to the local science. The priority for us is an innovative way of development. The Year of Science has to get the image of renewal and discovery of the country in all areas,” said Lukashenka.

Implementation of this policy will help to provide people with jobs, decent earnings, said the head of the country:

“The standard of living must be much higher than today. Achieving this is not easy. However, we will substantially raise the incomes of citizens already in the next year, whatever the cost”.
