'Happy birthday': Book about Putin’s big role in contemporary culture released in Russia
The book titled ‘In the Lead. Putin and Contemporary Culture’ tells about the Russian president’s image in the world of popular culture.
This is the first in-depth study of the president’s image being develoved by artists and сultural workers, Viktor Levanov, editor-in-chief of Gosindex portal, told RIA Novosti.
“Vladimir Putin’s image became a brand long time ago. This phenomenon exceeded the bounds of our country and the personality, that is why we decided to create such a book by the president’s birthday,” he said.
According to Viktor Levanov, they were driven by research, not commercial, purposes. The authors did not ask the presidential administration for permission to publish the volume.
On October 7, Russian leader Vladimir Putin turns Putin ’64. The president is going to celebrate his birthday in the bosom of family and friends, his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
