Young fashion designers from Poland promote vyshyvankas with Belarusian ornaments

A fashion show of young designers from Eastern Partnership countries took place in Białystok as part of the festival Wschód Kultury/Inny Wymiar. The attenders had a chance of judging the collections of Polish and Ukrainian designers.

It is curious that young Polish creators actively use Belarusian national ornaments and embroidery in their works.

Xoroshe.pl is a Podlasie-based company. The fashion designers say that they combine modernity with traditions. Many residents of Podlasie, a historical region in the eastern part of Poland, are Belarusians.

As reported before, the show ‘Narodny Albom. 20 years later’ directed by Konrad Smuga premiered within the Wschód Kultury. Inny Wymiar festival on September 4. Belsat TV is the executive producer and author of the idea of the performance. The festival was coordinated by Bialystok Cultural Center and  National Cultural Center with support of kulturadostepna.pl.
