Foundation seeking money to build historical mini-state

The Kraina Zamkau (Castle State) foundation has launched a campaign to raise funds for additional of 3D-printers to create models of castles and temples of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which will become part of the miniature park in the village of Radzevichy (Ashmiany district)placed five kilometers from Halshanski castle. Money is collected at the crowdfunding site talaka.by.

There will be models of ten Belarusian castles constructed on the territory of 2.5 hectares. The project is implemented with the financial support of UNDP. Scale of the project is 1:25 (Tower of Mir Castle will be 140 cm in height). Authors of the project plan to organize a bed and breakfast place for tourists.

“Similar parks are found in every country except Belarus, says the head of the Foundation Ales Varykish. – We will eliminate this drawback. I am confident of success. There is no doubt that people will come to us. It will also be the first such facility in the country.

I remember a few years ago there were attempts to make something similar at the Chyzhouski reservoir in Minsk – it was announced that there will be built a “Belarus in miniature” theme park. But then it was decided that this park can pay off only in a few decades. As a result, the construction was stopped and recognized unprofitable. Private owners and government agencies have completely different approaches to similar projects. I would build this park, even if UNDP had not allocated a grant. But I am very glad that we have such a partner and that it set for us strict deadlines. Ten facilities will appear by August 2016. We already have an architect who designs, and builders, who build castles. ”

According to the plan, near Halshany there will be a miniature Mir, Navahrudak, Lida, Kreu, Vilna, Trakai, and Medniki castles.

“Miniature Park” is not Belarus but the Grand Duchy of Lithuania,” said Ales Varykish.
