Two years on: How Russia started invading Crimea (first footage + Belsat TV report)


Two years ago, Russian armed forces took control of Crimean strategic facilities (airports, administrative buildings) and besieged military units.

First ‘little green men’ who were captured by television cameras popped up in the vicinity of Crimean airports (ENG subs):

Uniformed men without any insignia but with Kalashnikovs in their hands stated they were patrolling the airport in order to ‘prevent fascism from spreading there’. They came by trucks without number plates. In the beginning ‘unknown soldier’ were on patrol near the buildings, but did not enter waiting areas.

Belsat TV reporters visited Crimea in the course of the annexation; the journalists were witnessing the dramatic events and covering news on-the-spot:
