Two people injured in explosion in Kyiv's central street


An unknown object has exploded in Hrushevskoho Street in downtown Kyiv injuring two people, the police report.

“At 14:06, the police control room received a report about an explosion of an unknown object in Hrushevskoho Street. A man and a woman were injured as the result of the explosion,” the report reads.

A task force and explosive experts are working at the scene. All the circumstances of the incident are being established.

Today, on August 24, Ukraine is celebrating its Independence Day. This is the main state holiday in present-day Ukraine since the Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1991.
