Truck with onion disguised heroin detained in Russia

A resident of Tajikistan was delivering drugs from Kyrgyzstan to vegetable base in Yekaterinburg. Goods were imported under the guise of onion: wrapped in adhesive tape were sealed bags of heroin.

Law enforcement officers found 230 ‘onions’ used to transport about 25 kilograms of heroin. Narcotic bulbs’ cost is estimated at $500 thousand. The drugs disguised as the bulbs were mixed with the genuine onion. FSB officers had to go through 20 tons of the transported vegetables.

A criminal case for illegal sale and smuggling of narcotics was launched against the organizers of drug trafficking.
