On August 28, in Kyiv, people gathered to commemorate the Belarusian hero. A year ago, there was erected a monument to the Belarusian volunteer.
Artist Taras Nosara is presenting a picture, which he dedicated to the Belarusians, who in January 2015 raised a white-red-white flag in the Pyaski.
Belarusian and Ukrainian activists with white-red-white flags gathered near the monument to honor the memory of Ales Charkashyn and Ukrainian Vitali Tilizhenko killed in Donbas two years ago.
Ales Charkashyn is a participant of the three Squares: 2001, 2006 and 2010. In addition, he defended the people’s memorial “Kurapaty” during the expansion of the Minsk ring road in 2001, took part in the organizations “Kray” and “Zubr”. Later he joined the activities of the “Belarusian Christian Democracy”.
He was a fighter of the tactical group “Belarus”, he joined the volunteer group “Right Sector” almost from the beginning of hostilities in Donbas. In Ukraine, he studied at the Biblical Institute in Kherson. During the war, he became a chaplain for the volunteers. He was killed in eastern Ukraine 2 years ago.
