‘Save and Protect’. U.S. mobile phone for Orthodox believers for 1.5 mln Russian rubles


U.S. company Gresso, an industry leader in the high-tech engineering and design of luxury smartphones and accesories, has presented a new collection dedicated to the Russian Orthodox Church.

The line of gadgets appeared on the market on the occasion of the Orthodox feast of Epiphany which is celebrated on January, 19. Their cases are covered with gold; a cross and the inscription ‘Save and Protect’ are engraved on rear panels. The price for a device with buttons of gold is 380,000 Russian rubles (appr. $6,400) and with those of diamonds – 1.5 mln rubles ($25,000).

A year ago, the company brought to market the phones which had been tailored to Russian State Duma deputiess. On their contact list, the devices had phone numbers of the Duma factions, committees and departments, as well as those of all 450 MPs and members of the Federation Council.
