Tax dodgers in parliament? Lukashenka pardons ex-MP after compensating $20 mln loss


Andrey Paulouski, the owner of Biocom corporate group and a former senator, has been discharged from criminal responsibility after he compensated losses to the state.

In October 2015, Mr Paulouski was stripped of parliamentary immunity and four criminal cases were opened against him and six top managers of Biocom for serious tax evasion, Valery Vakulchyk, the head of the Belarusian State Security Committee (KGB) said on Tuesday.

Andrey Paulouski faced up to 7 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property. First he was put in the KGB remand prison in Minsk, but in late November the former senator was placed under house arrest.
