EAEC membership supported by 60% of Belarusians


Belarusians are disappointed in the Eurasian integration.

Membership in the Eurasian Economic Union is supported by 60% of Belarusians – it is 8% less than in the last year.

These figures are featured in an annual study by the Center for Integration Studies of the Eurasian Development Bank “Integration Barometer”.

At the same time Kyrgyzstan recorded the highest among the EAEC Member States level of public support of the Eurasian integration – 86%. The level of support from the population of Russia and Kazakhstan is 78% and 80% respectively. But in Armenia, membership in the EAEC is supported by little more than half of residents – 56%.

Against the creation of a common EAEC army are 57% of Belarusians and 53% of Russians.

Also according to the study, Russia remains the most attractive country for employment in the post-Soviet space. It is particularly popular among the Tajiks (53%) and Kyrgyzstan citizens (38%). In Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine number of people wishing to work in Russia is lower.
