State wants to remove 'Belsat' from regions -- BAJ

The state is pressuring ‘Belsat TV’ journalists for going where others do not reach. Freelance journalist from Homiel Kastus Zhukouski has received another penalty for his professional activities.

In 2017, ‘Belsat TV’ journalists have paid the state about 30,000 BYN in fines for ‘illegal manufacturing of media’ and ‘working without accreditation’. In early December, our colleague from Minsk Volha Chaychyts is to appear in another court hearing.

“The state authorities are putting pressure on ‘Belsat’ to remove the channel representatives from the regions of Belarus, so that independent information does not leak to the satellite,” said Barys Haretski, press secretary of the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
