Starting today foreigners may visit Bialowieza Forest without visa


Visa-free travel for visitors of Belavezhskaya Pushcha (Bialowieza Forest) begins on 12 June, state-run news agency BelTA reports.

Foreigners will be allowed to stay on the territory of Belavezhskaya Pushcha visa free for a period of up to 3 days. Visa-free access is available via the Belarusian border checkpoint Perarov-Belavezha. A special pass is needed to visit the national park without a visa.

According to Belavezhskaya Pushcha National Park, in order to obtain the document a visitor should get registered on the website of the park, apply for the document, receive the approval and print the pass. The pass provides a date when a tourist should visit the border checkpoint. The visitor should have all necessary documents with him, i.e. a passport, a medical insurance and a pass.

According to the State Border Committee, a tour group of 30 people from Poland is expected to visit Belovezhskaya Pushcha on the first day of the visa-free regime.
