Spin doctors stake on image of hard-working Father: Lukashenka and son harvest potatoes

In mid August Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka harvested potatoes and melons in the territory of his official residence Drazdy on Sunday.

At first, the head of state and his youngest son Mikalai harvested potatoes. It took them 1.5 hours to gather a good harvest from the field of 1,800 square meters, state-own news agency BelTA reports.

According to the presidential press service, the Lukashenkas gathered 70 sacks of potatoes. The harvest is reported to be handed over to orphanages and rest homes.

The harvesting of melons also started at the President’s residence on Sunday. Last year the head of state showed by his personal example that these fruits can and should be grown in Belarus. This year the area under melons was three times bigger. The first water melon was tasted in the field, and it was very good, BelTA stresses.

Bloggers noticed that Lukashenka Jr was wearing white Converse sneakers. At the same time, his father keeps urging people to buy domestic goods.

In July, the Belarusian leader and his son mowed the grass in the company of French actor Gerard Depardieu. Showing off as a hard-working leader is definitely playing into the hands of Alyaksandr Lukashenka before the presidential election which is be held on October 11, 2015.
