South Ossetia: Russian military in bad accident


A bus carrying Russian soldiers fell into a chasm in South Ossetia after its brakes failed to operate on Thursday morning, state-run Russian agency TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Defense Ministry.

6 people were killed and 16 were injured.

According to the ministry, the tragedy occurred around 8:40 am (Minsk time) on a mountain road Tskhinvali-Kanchavetsi.

“The bus was carrying officers involved in the educational and methodical training of battalion commanders to the sites where classes were to be given. The accident resulted in the death of 6 officers, 16 were injured. All the injured were immediately taken to hospitals of the town of Tskhinvali where all the necessary assistance is being given to them,” the press service says.
