Slavamir Adamovich put into to mental hospital

As the poet said, he was taken first to Myadzel for physical examination and then to a psychiatric hospital in the capital. Other details of the incident were not disclosed.

Recall that Adamovich was detained in Budslau on July 1 during the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Budslau. He was stopped by people in civilian clothes, and asked to inspect his bag. After he said no, Adamovich was tied up and put in an ambulance. Then he was taken for a medical examination, accompanied by a policeman.

In November 1995, Slavamir Adamovich wrote the poem “Kill the President!”, for which he was arrested. After 10 months, he was released on bail. In August 1997, in one of the opposition rallies, he publicly sewed his mouth. For several years he lived in exile but later he returned to Belarus.
