‘Don’t stir up protests!’ Entrepreneurs’ leader calls Belarus authorities for dialogue

Anatol Shumchanka, the leader of the business association Perspective, told Belsat TV about the situation which Belarusian entrepreneurs are facing now.

“Generally speaking, the government is making no concessions. All that we have now is the result of what we gained when protesting in winter, i.e. the authorities recognized Russian documents for goods. But inspections are in progress both in the regions and in the capital, which is a matter of concern for entrepreneurs. We know that the government will stand to their colors, we know that next year there will be more fines imposed on us in order to boost the state budget. We know the takes collected are not enough,” the businessman said.

According to him, if the situation gets worse, the entrepreneurs may start protesting.

“At the moment, the main message to the authorities is ‘ Organize the dialogue and invite people to a negotiation venues’ to prevent people from taking to the streets, holding rallies and striking,” Shumchanka stressed.
