'Serbian' noser at Freedom Day rally in Minsk: Belarusians have nothing to do in EU

‘A Serb of Belarusian descent’, who complained of bad sides of the EU during the celebration of Freedom Day in Minsk, turns out to be an adventurer from the Belarusian city of Mahiliou. He was recognised by Mahiliou-based musical band Zatochka.

During yesterday’s rally a curious incident happened. Two guys attracted the attention of reporters. One of them spoke loudly in Belarusian and Russian and wondered whom the participants were celebrating independence from. He was indignant about people raising EU flags. The man was wearing a T-shirt “Beogradski Sindikat” – a Serbian hip-hop group that is very popular among right-wing football fans.

The other presented himself as a Serb and simulated the Serbian accent. He also grumbled about the European Union, saying there are no jobs there. But band Zatochka recognised him. The musicians say this man is known as ‘Grisha’ in their city. Receiving a number of disclosing messages ‘Grisha’ deleted his profile on the social network. According to several Internet users, the man is famous for swindling money out of his townmen.
