Russia's Yaroslavl: Cottager murders friend over suspicion of espionage for USA

The incident occurred on June 19 in a village near Yaroslavl. Two men were drinking alcohol. The guest was telling the owner of the summer house (dacha) about his frequent travels abroad.

The 45-year-old engineer might have drunk till all was blue: he began to suspect his friend of spying for the United States, then flew at him and beat to death.

The offender called the police. But the man was not going to surrender to law enforcement agencies: he reported that a spy was detained by him, Russian newspaper Pravda says.

The murderer has been arrested; an investigation is being carried out.

This is not the first time when the patriotic Russian citizens fancy a ‘dirty hand’ of the West.

Not long ago a ‘watchful buyer’ spotted banned products from Lithuania and Poland in a store in the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk and immediately alerted the authorities.
