Russian supervisory body Rosselkhoznadzor to not ban Belarusian milk

Rosselkhoznadzor will not impose a ban on the supply of dairy products from Belarus, which was scheduled for March 15. Next week, specialists of the service will inspect Belarusian enterprises.

“The Rosselkhoznadzor decided not to introduce from tomorrow a ban on the import of dairy raw materials from the territory of Belarus. At the same time, next week the service will conduct inspections of Belarusian enterprises supplying dairy products to the territory of Russia to ensure compliance with Russian requirements and norms, Rosselkhoznadzor spokeswoman Yulia Melano told reporters.

The Russian side did not explain its decision.

At the same time, Rosselkhoznadzor may introduce a ban on deliveries of Belarusian tomatoes next week due to re-export.

“The Rosselkhoznadzor is considering the introduction of restrictions on the supply of tomatoes from the territory of Belarus due to a serious increase in the volume of supplies of sanctioned products (in particular tomatoes) from the territory of this state,” she said, noting that a final decision has not yet been taken.

According to Melano, from March 7 to 13, 12 vehicles with tomatoes banned in Russia were detained on the Russian-Belarusian border.
