Russian officials not happy over American stance on Donbas peacekeeping operation

Federation Council of Russia has accused the US Special Envoy on Ukraine Kurt Volker of an attempt to “disrupt the Minsk agreement.”

This was stated by Chairman of the International Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev, RIA Novosti reported.

“The absence of peacekeepers from the Russian Federation is not in line, and calling a spade a spade, contrary to the Minsk agreements, which are the only way to resolve the situation in the east of Ukraine,” said Kosachev.

Earlier, the US State Department’s special representative on Ukraine Kurt Volker said that the Russians would not be able to participate in the peacekeeping mission in Donbass.

Volker thinks, however, that the UN Resolution on Peacekeepers in Donbas may be ready by the end of the year.
