The video with a Russian ‘TVK – Channel 6’ anchor Alexander Smol making fun of the local deputies is gaining popularity on Youtube.
On July 10, the last day before summer vacation, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory raised their salaries almost twofold. Now with all the allowances they will receive not 100,000 RUR, but 200,000 ($ 3,300).
This event became the news of the day. The local news anchor presented it with irony. He described the circumstances of the vote for the salary increase: the deputies were going to raise public sector wages, but in the end unanimously passed a bill to increase their own salaries.
The anchor applauded the legislators and was supported by colleagues.
Although the amendments have entered into force, the budget can only be amended in the fall. Thus double salaries are still not available for the Russian deputies.
