Russian journalists claim to be Belarusians when reporting from Ukraine

Russian journalists claim to be Belarusians when reporting from Ukraine. Ukrainian TV channel TSN states.

Several crews of Russian TV channels arrived at the place where the oil depot in Vasilkov near Kyiv is still ablaze.

“Covering from the scene, they voice only worst-case scenarios,” TSN stresses. “They predict acid rains, poisoning and cancer.”

However, they do not want to reveal the fact of their working for Russian media. There are no logos of any TV channel on microphones and cameras.

“We do not belong to any Russian media,” a journalist who has just had a standup recorded, is trying to convince her Ukrainian colleague. “What media do you represent?” the Ukrainian asks. “A Belarusian one,” the reply comes.

But when the ‘Belarusian reporter’ was asked to show her press card, she went back. A bit later the girl introduced herself and admitted her being a special correspondent for Russian TV channel Rossiya-24. The other journalist avoided any contact with Ukrainian colleagues who still managed to define that she is an employee of the Russian television RTR.
