Russian general in charge of pro-Russian rebel headquarters in Donbas


Major-General of the Russian Army Aleksei Zavizyon called Alagir is responsible for the relocation of artillery, heavy machinery of the militants, reports on his Facebook page Markiyan Lubkivsky, adviser to the head of the SBU.

“Under his direct supervision and coordination, the most ambitious and bloody attacks on Ukrainian cities such as Kramatorsk and Mariupol were committed,” he wrote on Facebook.

According to the Ukrainian security services, Aleksei Zavizyon graduated from the Chelyabinsk Higher Tank School in 1986. Since 1997, he has served in the Trans-Baikal Military District, has experience of fighting in Chechnya.

“A possible replacement for Zavizyon may come in the face of Andrei Gurulyov,” said Markiyan Lubkivsky.
