Belarus rapper detained at Moscow's airport for bomb scare report (video)

Belarusian-born musician Syarhei Parkhomenka aka Syaroha missed his plane and allegedly decided to act in an unusual manner…

The performer asked UTair staff to delay the Moscow-Minsk flight, but he was refused, because the plane had already taken off. Then Syaroha said that there was a bomb aboard, Russian media report with reference to a source in the police. The airport decided not to return the aircraft but reported the case to the police.

Syaroha was taken to a police station. After such a bad joke, he may face up to three years in prison and $3,000 fine under Article 207 of Russia’s Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (knowlingly fraudulent report about an act of terrorism). Later the Belarusian went back on his words and accused the airline staff of lying.

Syarhei Parhomenka was released; he is going to hold a press conference today.

At Minsk Airport, the ‘mined’ plane was placed in a special parking lot and thoroughly inspected.
