Pyotr Klimuk presented as Russian cosmonaut in Brest (photo)

At a Brest exhibition, the first Belarusian cosmonaut was shown with the Russian flag.

An exhibition dedicated to the Cosmonautics Day has opened in a Brest cinema. The portrait of the first Belarusian cosmonaut Pyotr Klimuk was “decorated” with a tricolor.

The “Honor and Glory to Russia” photo was hanging near the portrait. How does this relate to the present-day Belarus and why such photos had been chosen by the organizers of the exhibition remains a mystery.

Pyotr Klimuk was born in the village of Kamarouka, which is not far from Brest, in 1942. He became the first cosmonau from Belarus to make a space flight in December 1973 on board the “Soyuz-13” space ship.
