Provocators? Ukraine denies entry to ‘strongly-built’ Belarusians

Three Belarusians, one Russian and four Kyrgyz citizens were denied entry to Ukraine in the run-up of the anniversary of the 2014 tragedy in Odessa.

On May 1, the foreigners were detained by the State Border Service of Ukraine.

The men claimed they were going to take part in sporting events in Odessa. The Russian citizen flew to the Ukrainian city from Dubai and the rest took the flight ‘Minsk-Odessa’.

According to Ukrainian law enforcers, all of them had been invited by the same organization which might be involved in preparing provocations during the memory events. Presumably, the organization recruited ‘strongly-built’ people who had experience in seizing public and governmental buildings.

Security has been stepped up on May 2 in Odessa. Three years ago, a tragedy caused a death toll of 48, about 300 persons were injured.
