The President of Ukraine spoke about the visa-free regime with the EU.
Ukraine is finally moving away from Russia and returning home to Europe, the Ukrainian president said in an interview with TV channel “1 + 1”:
“I would say that Ukraine has finalized its divorce from the Russian Empire, and we need to treat it calmly.”
According to Petro Poroshenko, there will now be three freedoms — the freedom of movement of goods, capital, and people.
“This is not only and not so much about the visa-free border crossing, but about the return of Ukraine to the historical place among the European countries,” President said.

He noted that there were obstacles within the country and even some eurooptimists publicly appealed to the European Commission and the EU leadership not to grant Ukraine a visa-free regime.
Also, according to Poroshenko, there were some external obstacles, in particular, attempts to mobilize the anti-European forces within the EU in order not to grant Ukraine a visa-free regime.
Visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union will take effect on 11 June.
