Situation in complicated – Belarus Prime Minister about enterprises in regions

Branches of major Belarusian companies in the regions should be able to take care of the stability of their economic status, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrey Kabyakou said during a working trip to Brest region on Wednesday.

“At present the situation is complicated in many enterprises located in the regions because the markets targeted by many Belarusian large mechanical engineering companies have experienced a bit of downfall and the volume of orders in manufacturing cooperation schemes is dropping. It has never been more important for branches of the companies to be able to stay afloat by making their own products and taking care of their own sales. By doing it, they will secure their economic stability,” state-run news agency BelTA quotes Kabyakou as saying.

However, according to his estimates, the enterprises are able to ensure 1.5% GDP growth in 2017.

In turn, the official data on the development of national industry do not produce a surge of optimism. On the contrary, they imply that a third of the Belarusian industrial enterprises are unprofitable.
