Poroshenko: Ukraine must become member of Schengen

Petro Poroshenko

Ukrainian head of state wants no borders from Kharkiv to Lisbon.

President Petro Poroshenko intends to do everything to ensure that Ukraine became a member of the Schengen zone. He stated this on the ‘ICTV’ TV channel:

“My goal is for Ukraine to become a member of the Schengen area as a result of its radical reforms, so that one could travel from Kharkiv to Lisbon without stopping at borders.”

Petro Poroshenko also said that currently about 14 thousand Ukrainians receive biometric passports every day.

“Our movement in the EU cannot be stopped,” said the president.

According to him, Russia was unable to block the entry of Ukraine into the “visa-free club.”

“We have left them no chance,” Petro Poroshenko summed up.
