Poland may expel Russian diplomats - media


Poland may expel Russian diplomats from in solidarity with the United Kingdom.

Imposing sanctions on Putin’s minions is also being considered in connection with the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal in Salisbury (UK), Polish media report.

On March 4, Sergei Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yuliya, 33, were found unconscious at a shopping mall in the English town of Salisbury. The two were taken to hospital in critical condition. The were reportedly poisoned following exposure to an unknown substance. Later, British Prime Minister Theresa May said that Skripal and his daughter had been poisoned with Novichok, a military-grade nerve agent of a type developed by Russia.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki reportedly spoke on the subject with Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“We will firmly seek joint actions so that they would be biting for Russia,” the Polish newspapaer dziennik Gazeta Prawna quotes its own source in the Polish government.

According to the newspaper, Poland believes EU joint actions against Russia to be the best option, but the country is also ready to react and slap sanctions on Russia sanctions on its own.
