Pavlo Gryb abducted by FSB in Belarus has no access to doctors

The Russian side has refused Ukrainian doctors access to Ukrainian Pavlo Gryb kept in the Krasnodar detention center, his father Igor Gryb said.

“The representative of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don has said that the Russian side, despite the letter from ECtHR and multiple notes of Ukrainian diplomats, has not given permission to the Ukrainian doctors Pritula and Kuchin to visit Pavel,” Igor Gryb wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Igor Gryb, he spoke with doctor Vasil Pritula, who had been Pavlo’s doctor since childhood.

“All attempts to get into the Krasnodar remand prison #5 were rejected, without Russia’s response,” said the father of the arrested Ukrainian.

In late August Igor Gryb, Pavel’s father and a former employee of the Border Service of Ukraine, reported that his son had disappeared on August 24, after he had gone to meet with a girl in Homiel. Igor Gryb said his son had been abducted in Belarus by FSB with the help of the girl.

The Belarusian side confirmed that Pavlo had crossed the border and added that they had no claims, but did not comment on the details of the young man’s abduction in Homiel. Krasnodar court later reported that the warrant for Pavlo Gryb’s arrest was issued on October 17th (that is, before the Belarusian crossed the border), he was wanted internationally on charges of terrorism. Now the 19-year-old Ukrainian is in the Krasnodar detention center.

Pavlo Gryb suffers from severe chronic illness and his relatives believe that in prison his health has deteriorated significantly.
