Belarus GDP falls 3% since start of year


Gross domestic product figure continues to fall.

In January-August 2016, the volume of GDP in current prices amounted to 60.8 billion rubles, or 3% compared with the same period last year. This data was provided by the National Statistical Committee.

The falling GDP trend has been evident since last year. Since the beginning of 2016, the decline rate had slowed, but it accelerated again in July. The fall was as follows: January – 4.4%, in January-February – 4.1%, in January-March – 3.7%, in January-April – 3% in January-May – 2.8%, in January-June – 2 , 5%, in January-July – 2.7%.
