‘Odd-toed animal’: Pro-Lukashenka journalist abuses opposition presidential candidate on air

Being on television on Saturday, Alyaksei Mikhalchanka, the anchorman of TV program ‘As It Is’ has sneered in vulgar terms at the election agenda of Anatol Lyabedzka, the leader of the United Civic Party of Belarus (UCP), who is collecting signatures for the participation in the electoral race.

On July, 22 Lyabedzka presented his election program ‘One Million New Jobs For Belarus’ at the entrance of Minsk Tractor Plant.

“Any Lyabedzka’s campaign may be called ‘a knight’s move’. On July, 22 this odd-toed [animal] ended up at the control room of Minsk Tractor Plant,” the presenter said and recalled that a horse is depicted on the emblem of the United Civic Party.

Alyaksei Mikhalchanka is notorious for his vocal support of the incumbent president Alyaksandr Lukashenka and open hate campaigns against the Belarusian oppositionists.  After the 2010 presidential elections he was sanctioned by the EU, but some years later his name was deleted from the blacklist.
