Mourning with Russia: Lukashenka orders to fly flags at half mast, cancel concerts

In solidarity with Russia, Belarus president Alyaksandr Lukashenka has ordered to display state flags at half mast and cancel entertainment events in the country on December, 26.

According to him, Belarus cannot stand aside from the tragic events in the neighbouring country.

“Our country feels deep sorrow and compassion today – the news about the crash of the Tu-154 plane heading from Sochi to Syria has left no Belarusian untouched. This tragedy is our common grief, and today Belarus mourns together with Russia. In this difficult moment, we share this tremendous sorrow with you,” Lukashenka said in the message of condolences which he sent to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

The Belarusian leader stressed that this was a huge loss for the world culture as the members of the renowned Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Soviet Army named after A. V. Alexandrov were among the victims.
