Attack helicopter allegedly piloted by Belarus crew downed in DR Congo

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not got any official information about the helicopter that crashed in DR Congo. According to the Georgian media, it was piloted by a Belarusian crew.

“The Foreign Ministry and the Embassy of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa are making efforts to obtain information from official sources about the incident with the helicopter, which is supposed to have been piloted by a Belarusian crew,” Dzmitry Mironchyk, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, told journalists.

The Belarusian side is doing its best to get official information and clarify whether the country’s citizens were involved in the incident, Mironchyk stressed and added that all the latest would be definitely shared with the public.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo two Mi-24 attack helicopters were downed on January, 28; the crew members were hospitalized.
