Mixed-race child unwelcome: MP urges Russian girls not to have sex with foreigners

MP Tamara Pletnyova, the chairwoman of the parliamentary committee on family, women and children, called on to Russian women to avoid sexual contacts with foreigners attending the 2018 World Cup events.

She warned them against unwanted pregnancies.

“[Such] children suffer. And they have been suffering since the the Soviet times,” the deputy of the State Duma said referring to the fate of many Soviet citizens born after the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow.

According to her, a fruit of such a relationship may be of a ‘different race’. She honestly admitted that mixed-race children might face trouble in Russia.

“We should give birth to our children. I am not a nationalist, but still!” Pletnyova stressed.

In her opinion, even if foreign partners do not leave pregnant girls and take them abroad, they often do not know how to return to their homeland and bring a child with them.

“Then they come to me, to the committee and cry over their kid’s being taken away and so on,” the top official told the newspaper Moskovski Komsomolets.
