Minsk 'Dinamo' loses to FC Zenit in Russia


On Thursday, the Dinamo football club (Minsk) lost to the St. Petersburg Zenit in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.

After a sensational victory in Minsk a week ago (4: 0), “Dinamo” failed in the St. Petersburg second leg.

The normal time ended with the score 4: 0 in favor of Zenit. During the extra time, on the 99th minute, “Dynamo” scored: 4: 1. Then FC Zenit had to score at least two goals, and the club overdid this task. The maych ended with the final score of 8: 1.

The FC Zenit coach Sergey Semak commented on the words of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, who said that in Minsk the FC Zenit players were moving around “on all fours”.

“Of course, the whole team was offendedd by the words that in Minsk we were “on our fours”. This turned out to be an additional stimulus for us. Many thanks for this. It always makes you feel good,” Semak said. – In turn, I want to thank the FC Dinamo. They are great fellows. They did their best. But today we were better. Although Minsk has a very, very nice team.”

In the fourth round of the qualification of the Europa League FC Zenith will play the Norwegian “Molde”. And the Minsk “Dinamo” is preparing for the games of the championship of Belarus.
