A Belsat TV contributor saw a toppled statue in a military town in Minsk residential area Uruchcha.
The monument to the leader of the October Revolution has been dismantled despite it was not a hindrance for construction process.
“I don’t know whether this was an order from the top-down but the statue was not an obstacle for constructing a new road. It has been here for as long as I can remember,” our journalist reports.
The wreckage is to be handed over to Division No 129 in Uruchcha soon where officers are expected to preserve it.
“No wonder that [the statue of] Lenin was toppled. They would have never done this to [the statue of] Lukashenka!” a passer-by told Belsat.
It is to be recalled that a wave of toppling Lenin statues ran down Ukraine when protests against Yanukovych‘s turn to Russia started.
