Sports and Tourism Ministry asking to allow foreign exchange transactions for travel agencies

The ban on using foreign currency to pay for tourist services may result in its outflow from the country.

“The Ministry of Sports and Tourism continues to monitor the situation in the field of currency regulation, allowing travel agencies to conduct foreign exchange transactions with individuals until the end of the current tourist season,” noted the ministry representative.

The ban on using foreign currency to pay for travel services entered into force on March 1. It could lead to an outflow of currency from the country, experts believe, or it can brign down the demand for Belarusian travel agencies.
