Minimum wage in Belarus twice as big as in Ukraine and 1.4 times bigger than in Russia


Belsat found out the minimum wage size that workers in Belarus and in the neighboring countries can count on next year.

According to the Council of Ministers,from 1 January 2016 the minimum salary in Belarus will be 2.3 million rubles, or 114 euros at the current exchange rate of the National Bank.

And what are the minimum wages in the neighboring countries?

Lithuanians next year will receive at least 350 euros (three times more than the Belarusians), Latvians – 370 euros.

The minimum wage in Poland will amount to PLN 1,850 or 435 euros. Russian Workers will earn at least 6,200 Russian rubles or 80 euros. Thus, the minimum wage in Russia is 1.4 times smaller than in Belarus.

The recently adopted Ukrainian budget for 2016 provides for the 2016 minimum wage in the amount of 1,378 hryvnia (53 euros), from May 1 – 1,450 hryvnia (55 euros), from December 1 – 1,550 hryvnia (about 60 euros). It turns out that the minimum wage in Ukraine will be about half as small as in Russia.
