Next Square (Ploshcha) in Minsk can take place in the autumn of 2016 after the parliamentary elections. The former political prisoner Mikola Statkevich does not exclude this turn of events.
“If the authorities change the Electoral Code, we will fight at the elections. If not, other than campaigning for their programs, candidates will have to campaign for people to come out to the Square and pressure the authorities to make them count votes,” said the politician.
Mikola Statkevich will not participate in the elections, as he has an outstanding conviction for the Square of 2010.
