Minsk metro 'speaking' English again

Station names in Minsk metro are now announced not only in Belarusian, but also in English.

English has returned into the capital. Now the names announced in the Belarusian language stations are duplicated with message in English. Last time Minsk metro “spoke” in English during the Ice Hockey World Championship in 2014.

Currently, the station names are announced in English only along the Avtozavodskaya line.

On January 9 this year, Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree # 8 “On establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals”. According to the decree, the citizens of 80 countries entering Belarus via the “National Airport Minsk” for a period of not more than 5 days do not need a visa. The decision comes into force on 12 February.
