Members of Tatstsiana Karatkevich picket attacked

In Brest, activists of the Tatstsyana Karatkevich nominating group had an unpleasant incident. According to the human rights website Viasna, the incident occurred on August 8 in Savetskaya Street.

The picket members were collecting signatures in support of Tatstsiana Karatkevich, when a strange man suddenly ran up to them. He tore down the party flag of the Belarusian Social Democratic party (Hramada), standing nearby. The man tried to stop signature collecting, cursed and insulted the picketers. But when they called the police, the man ran away, without waiting for the police to arrive.
