Medvedev in Belarus: Streets shut off due to EEU prime ministers’ meeting


The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council has started  in the Belarusian city of Hrodna. Prime Ministers of Belarus, Armenia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are participating in the meeting.

The top officials are expected to discuss the financial stability of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The agreement on the coordination of  efforts to protect the rights of intellectual property and the agreement on a pilot project to control marking of goods are to be signed at the meeting.

Due to the event, Hrodna residents are likely to witness traffic jams and canvassing some city areas. From 10.00 to 18.00 highways M6, P41, and streets in downtown Hrodna will be shut off, the traffic police say, Hrodna-based news website t-styl.info reports.
