Mazyr dweller sentenced to 10 days for participation in non-parasite march

Alyaksandr Shauko has been punished for participating in a non-parasite march held on March 18.

According to the “Viasna” Human Rights Defenders, the man was tried in the judge’s chambers, where neither relatives, including a pregnant woman, nor observers could get in.

The 35-year-old man was detained immediately after the meeting, at the hospital, where he was visiting his sick father. For two days he was held in solitary confinement. Alyaksandr Shauko had worked in the oil industry. For one and a half years, he was not able to find work.

In total, on March 20th, four people were brought to the temporary detention facility. Among them were Alyaksandr Barysenka, Alyaksandr Troshka and another man. All of them were detained immediately after the meeting on March 18th. The courtroom does not have a timetable of the trials, therefore it is not known who else of the detainees will be tried.

Alyaksandr Barysenka was punished with 10 days of arrest.

The Mazyr District Court staff refuted the information on the trial of the third detained man — Alyaksandr Troshka. As far as we know, he happened to be in the square by accident. The administrative case against him was not in the court,  svaboda.org reports.
